Dear Sir: Will you please publish the law requiring parents and guardians to send children to school. I hope the publishing of the law will be notice sufficient to all. If any in this district are unable to clothe their children suitably for attending school, they will please call the school board. To reap the benefits of the law, it must be enforced. — Levi Billings, director, School District No. 1.
Fred Rouse encloseth his premises with a fence. Go thou and do likewise.
There will be a grand time in Marion Centre on Christmas Eve. No one can afford to be absent. Entertainment will be at the Presbyterian church, and everybody with their wives and sweethearts is invited. For a small sum, a splendid supper will be spread. It will consist of everything edible that can well be procured for the occasion. It is intended by the managers to make this the finest spread in the town since a reception was given here for Coronado in 1542. A dinner also will be served Christmas Day.
