At Muddy Creek Lyceum, they are having debates. They conferred suffrage on the women of this glorious country Tuesday.

A select party tripped “the light fantastic” at the courthouse till “the small hours” Thursday night. The party feasted splendidly at the Frazer House.

Our friend T.W. Reed was excusable if he did light his cigar with a $10 bill Friday morning and then put the fire end of the cigar in his mouth. It’s a girl.

Sealed proposals will be received in Mayor Costello’s office until 1 o’clock tomorrow, Saturday, for the erection of a calaboose in Marion Centre, the building to be 16x20 feet in size, constructed of stone.

We would not have outsiders imagine that Marion Centre is a bad place and has great need of a city prison. We only want a place to entertain transients who chance to partake too freely of our “crooked” hospitality.
