The editor of the Record knows that in the few columns of space to which circumstances prescribe him, he cannot discuss every question which Tom, Dick, or Harry might wish considered.

It need not be presumed that he has no opinion because he expresses none; that he knows nothing, thinks nothing, or cares nothing or that he is indifferent to any or all the great questions which agitate the country.

Necessity compels him to ignore, almost wholly, everything except matters pertaining to the immediate interests of the county.

A lady lecturer of state reputation will lecture at Marion Centre at an early day of which further and extended notice will be given in these columns in due time. Subject: “What shall we do with our girls?”

A son of Mr. Holloway on Muddy Creek tore a hand into fragments as it were by an accidental discharge of a gun last week. Who’ll be the next one to fool with a gun?

We have heard of several farmers who awoke Tuesday morning to find their hog pens completely filled with snow, with no sight or sound of their porcine occupants. Imagining the animals smothered if not frozen, they removed the hard-packed snow and in every case found the hogs alive and lively.
