The Odd Fellows celebrated their 57th anniversary with a social and supper Wednesday evening at their hall in Marion Centre. We learn that it was a pleasant affair. A ball at the courthouse terminated the affair.
District court is still in session. Night sessions have been almost continuously held since court commenced. We hear that Judge Peters will overtax his strength in his zeal to expedite business and economize for the people.
There are two things John Mehl needs — a new and large storeroom and a wife.
For a man to be compelled to appear before a court of justice to give evidence and then to be beset and abused by a lawyer is simply outrageous. In the name of the people who are getting tired of this thing, we demand that this scandalous slandering of witnesses — too common here — be stopped.
