We told you so.

Elijah Holloway, who removed from here with his family a short time since to California, got enough of that country in a short time and has returned to Kansas.

He is in Cowley County, we understand. Better come back to the Centre, Mr. H., and be done with it.

It is also said that Cy Locklin, who went at the same time to Oregon, will return soon.

Now what’s the use in anybody trying to leave this Eden, anyhow?

If the editor of the Peabody Gazette reads the Record often, the following is very complimentary indeed to Mr. C. Reed (who filled in as editor during E.W. Hoch’s honeymoon):

“The last issue of the Record was one of the best we ever read. The editor would improve the Record’s record by getting married every week.”
