Elvis is going to be in Central Park June 1. Actually, 20 Elvis Presley impersonators will perform during the annual Chingawassa Days festival.

Just when Marion County residents thought the weather couldn’t be any stranger, it happened again. For the second Friday in a row, snowfalls in parts of Kansas, Marion County, broke former records.

Tamara Christiansen was honored this past week with her first dollar of profit for her store PLANTations, 420 E. Main St., Marion. The floral shop also includes unique gifts and trinkets.

Golden Living Center of Marion has established a grant program for non-profit organizations within the community. The first grant was awarded to Marion County Food Bank. The bank assists approximately eight families per week with food and vouchers to use at Carlsons’ Grocery of Marion.

Marion High School class of 1995 graduate Katrina Hancock recently took a job as weekend sports anchor at WDIV-TV in Detroit.
