A Thursday night storm made for some wet conditions but didn’t wash out the 11th annual Marion Chingawassa Days festivities. While Friday’s barbecue, a performance by the Callahan Band, and the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest were moved to Marion High School, the rest of the events went on as scheduled.
Amy Goering, a talented 2004 Marion High School graduate, is pictured with a display of two portraits she has done in the recent past. Goering, who has been studying commercial art at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, is available this summer to paint portraits from the home of her parents, Charles and Annora Goering.
Alan Kruse of Marion took home the best of show trophy Saturday for this 2004 Dodge pickup at the 13th annual Marion Lions Club car show, held for the first time this year in conjunction with Chingawassa Days.
Chelsea Zeiner had the top female time Saturday in the 5K Rhino Run during Chingawassa Days. She finished with a time of 22 minutes 27 seconds. She is the daughter of Ty Zeiner and Janet Zeiner, both of Marion.
Nicki and Casey Case are pictured figuring out a clue during Chingawassa Day’s Amazing Race. The couple eventually won the competition.
