Since 2005, Country Lakes Café has brought a little bit of Branson, Missouri, to Marion by providing singing waiters. Tabor College student Hanna Bishop is pictured as she sings to customers while waiting tables.

Don and Dawn Hett, Marion, will be hosts for the first stop Saturday on the 2009 Kansas Hereford Tour. The Hetts recently purchased Rex and Vernolis Siebert’s Diamond X Herefords. They are continuing the Diamond X brand.

J.C. Ehrlich is featured as he recalls the Depression era and reminisces about old times and the rigors of farming at an early age.

Hutton Construction has been selected as manager for a St. Luke Hospital expansion and renovation project. Patient rooms will be reduced, the laboratory will be updated, and the most noticeable change will be the hospital’s main entrance.

Twelve pre-kindergarten through sixth grade pupils from Marion Elementary School recently took part in a track meet in Minneapolis. Participants were Will, Cade, and Garret Alleven; Gunner and Cross Brown; Janson and Cooper Garman; Evann and Peyton Heidebrecht; Josh Knolla; Mason Pederson; and Zane Slater.
