Cooperation between USD 408 and the City of Marion made a new indoor swimming pool possible.

Because of this spirit, Marion Kiwanis Club chose as the theme for this year’s Old Settlers Day “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: USD 408 and the City of Marion — Building for the Future.”

Veterinarian Brendan Kraus opened his new facility, Spur Ridge Vet Hospital, Monday at 901 Industrial St. in Marion.

Alex Hajek and Josie Peterson were crowned king and queen Friday before Centre’s homecoming game against Hope.

Four generations of the Case family gathered Sept. 4 to celebrate the 80th birthday of Jean Case of Marion. Pictured are Casen Darrow, being held by his father, Chris Darrow, both of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Debbi Darrow, Marion; and Jean Case.

Friday will be homecoming at Marion High School. Queen candidates are Lindsay Hett, Kristen Steinborn, and Julia Zeiner. King candidates are Sheldon Boone, Brian Fruechting, and Tylor Neil.
