A field of milo along 240th Rd. between Pawnee and Old Mill Rds. is pictured as it is being harvested by Gary Grentz. The field yielded between 85 and 90 bushels per acre, which Grentz characterized as “pretty good.”

Roy Houdyshell of Lincolnville won for best original car at a car show at Florence’s Labor Day celebration. Houdyshell said he always wanted a car like it because it was like the one his father had when Houdyshell was a child. Everything, including a 324-cubic-inch engine, is original.
