There was a time when the 1940s Marion City Auditorium was the only facility of its kind in town.

With the addition of the Performing Arts Center, the old auditorium became an opportunity for development, and Marion Advancement Campaign has stepped up and assumed responsibility for renovation now in progress

This year’s Old Settlers Day parade will celebrate 100 years of scouting. Grand marshal will be Eugene Enos, who has been involved with Boy Scouts for 68 years.

Randy Regnier and Tristan Snelling are pictured as they embrace after being named Marion High School homecoming king and queen before the Warriors’ football game Friday against Bennington. The Warriors defeated Bennington, 35-20.

The Colletts are gathering this weekend to celebrate the 150th anniversary of their arrival in the Marion and Chase county areas. The family established a village on Middle Creek Rd. that they named Elk.

Fall homecoming candidates at Centre High School are Tanner Brunner, Brian Burhoop, Rustyn Kerbs, Tori Marler, Katie Remy, and Allison Shields.

Randy recently had some health problems but is doing well.

The two men and others are members of a large group of volunteers from Aulne United Methodist Church and Burns Mennonite Church working at the Richter home.
