The ladies of the Aid Association for Lutherans held a soup supper Sunday night as a fund-raising event to benefit the community bulletin board fund. The bulletin board will be placed on the north side of Main Street, just east of the Luta Creek crossing and will serve the community for public announcements, promotions and tourism.

Casey Case has been selected as the “outstanding forward” of the Kansas State University rugby team. The honor was announced Nov. 20 at the fall rugby awards banquet in Manhattan.

The Rev. Craig Atkinson, pastor of Valley United Methodist Church was elected Nov. 20 as president of the Marion Ministerial Alliance.

Irma Funk, Marion, was presented a 20-pound turkey Sunday afternoon at Marion’s Christmas opening which officially marked the beginning of the holiday shopping season.

Marion High School basketball players got a taste of action in front of a small, but enthusiastic, crowed Saturday night for the annual soap scrimmage between the red and white teams.
