Marion City Commissioners voted unanimously Monday afternoon to commend the late Sterling “Squeak” Frame for his devotion to duty and many years of service to the community as a police dispatcher. Frame died Monday morning at a Wichita medical center where he was taking tests for heart problems.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nowak of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Jan Elaine, to Jayson Alex Hanschu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Hanschu of Ramona. The couple will be married Aug. 9.
Kathy Collett is the Marion High School artist of the month for March. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Collett of rural Florence.

Jack Webb of Marion was named the top salesman for 1985 by the Lee Company at Salina. It is the third year in a row that he has been awarded the honor. Webb has been a salesman with the Lee Company for more than 21 years. He travels south central Kansas, including the Wichita area.
A community surprise birthday party was held for Gary Hageberg at the Burdick Legion Hall Friday evening in honor of his 50th birthday. Around 50 were in attendance.
