A McPherson legal firm has opened a branch office in Marion and has moved into the former Westerhaus Law Office building. The firm of Gary L. Flory, John B. Klenda, and Tim R. Karstetter held an open house Friday that was attended by numerous local businessmen and clients.

A group of volunteers is pictured as they installed a sign Friday evening at Hilltop Manor in Marion, 15 years after the retirement apartment complex was built. Manor officials who helped put up the sign were Ira Newcomer, Dick Thompson, L.Dena and Cy Goertz, and Darold Longhofer.

Women of the Presbyterian church enjoyed their annual “women’s day out” Tuesday when a group of 20 traveled to Lindsborg.

Members of the Marion High School flag team won a championship trophy and numerous individual ribbons recently during a summer camp in Tulsa, Okla. Members of the team are Sheri Plenert, Vicki Hartley, Charlotte Thies, Jory Kramer, Robin Summervill, Jennifer McLain, Diane Vantuyl, and Dena Connell. Dale Heidebrecht earned severalawards in the training for marching bandleaders.

City Superintendent Junior Bredemeier reported at the city commission meeting Monday that Lincoln Street will be extended south for access to the Burr Oak Addition.
