A fast, new computer-teletype machine has been installed in the dispatchers’ room at Marion County Law Enforcement Center. Dispatchers Loretta Childs, Liz Brunner, and Freda Losey are learning how to use the unit to obtain information from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

The Depot, youth center for Marion and Florence teen-agers, has received a $500 donation from the family of H.L. Wright, former Santa Fe agent at the depot.

Mark Rathert, 1971 graduate of Marion High School, is senior architect in a firm of golf course architects that design facilities around the world. Currently, he has made several site supervision visits during construction of a 39-hole golf club at Beijing, China, future site of The Asian Games.

Mike Hayden won the Republican gubernatorial primary race in the county, as well as the state.
