City of Marion Commissioners will meet Friday to close the deal on the purchase of the former Hett Implement building on North Cedar.

Gerry Ann Ehrlich and John Mathias Vinduska were married Nov. 22 in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.

Col. Laura J. Bredemeier of Salinas, Calif., spent the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Bredemeier.

Marion’s White Christmas this year came in the form of ice. Early risers found glistening flakes of frost covering outdoor objects several mornings during the holidays.

The engagement of Kodi D. Sader to Randy Kirk Kelsey is announced this week. The couple plans to be married June 6.

David Hett, a 6’1” senior forward, lead the Warriors in shooting and rebounding during the first six basketball games of the season. Hett is averaging 12.6 points and 7.3 boards per contest.

Rose Tajchman of Pilsen spent her $100 first place award in the Marion County Record’s annual subscription contest at Marion Health Mart Pharmacy. Recent illness caused medication expenses to go up, she said, “And this is really appreciated.” Other winners were Helen Reznicek, Marion, $75, Alvin Novak, Tampa, $50 and Paul Kelsey, Marion, $25.
