Renters have started moving into September, the just-completed apartment complex for the elderly in Marion. Edith and Harlow Warneke have been hired by the owners to be co-managers of the 20-unit complex on East Main Street near Stadium Drive.

Jeff Peterson, 14, and a Centre High School freshman, was left partially paralyzed Friday night following a car crash near Lincolnville.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Costello of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Michele Renee, to William Edward Lundy, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Dean Lundy of Prairie Village. The couple will be married May 30 in St. Mark Catholic Church, Marion.

Michael Svoboda of Centre Junior High School won the Marion County Spelling Bee held March 3 at Marion Elementary School. Gail Suderman of Hillsboro was runner-up.

Mable Waner of Florence is featured this week in the ongoing series of musicians playing the organ at churches in the area. Waner currently alternates with Lorena Magathan of Clements in making music at Sunday morning services at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Florence.

Three students in Gail Seaman’s sixth grade class in Marion will attend Space Camp at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Discovery Center in Hutchinson. The three are Michel Soyez, Ashley Loomis, and Traci Darrow.

Jan Davis, Marion artist, is pictured along with a display of her art currently hanging during the month of March on the walls of Farmers and Drovers National Bank.
