Secretary of State Bill Graves was the guest speaker in Marion Thursday during a meeting of the County Clerks’ Association. He is pictured being welcomed by local county officials, Commissioners Leon Suderman and Lucille Britain and Clerk Marquetta Eilerts.

Thieves took a wooden Indian during a recent break-in at the Marion County Historical Museum in Marion. Society members noticed the valuable antique cigar advertisement mission on Friday and called police.

Ramie Bina, 11-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bina of Lincolnville, was a top award-winning contestant in the Miss Great Plains Star Pageant held Oct. 24 in Leavenworth.

This month’s Teacher Profile by Marion High School Superintendent John Burke recognizes Don Molleker, teacher of computer science, mathematics, and physics at Marion High School.

Roger and Marie Morse showed slides and shared experiences of their trip to Russia and China at the Monday evening meeting of Coterie Club.

The boys’ cross-country team from Marion High School won first place Saturday at the regionals held in Augusta. Team members are Mike Bruner, Chuck Shaw, Greg Tice, Reyes Martinez, Mark Raleigh, Lane Allison, Leonard Champness, and Bill Davis.
