Sales of Kansas Lottery tickets were brisk in Marion on Thursday, the first day offered. Three people each won $500 prizes. Winners were Paula Johnson of Marion, Bill Evans of Marion, and Dorothy Berg of Newton.
Khanh Vu, M.D., plans to establish a practice at St. Luke Medical Clinic in June. Tentative plans call for the Vu family to move to Marion in April. The hospital’s recruiting team has been looking for a physician since Jeffery Martin, M.D., resigned more than a year ago.
Christopher Webb, son of Jack Webb of Marion, and Dr. Don Hodson of Marion are among those selected to be included in the 1987 edition of Outstanding Young Men of America list.
St. Luke boosters have announced plans for a Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 6. Homes being visited this year are those of Mark and Carla Williamson, Marlin and Debbie Buchholz, Lance and Debbie Flaming, and Dave and Vickie Jackson.
Three members of the Marion High School volleyball team have received post-season honors. Lady Warrior Charlotte Thies was named to the first team of the Cottonwood Valley League. Kristy Herbel was named to the CVL second team and Robin Summervill was given honorable mention.
Prominent McPherson banker Richard Nichols will be the guest speaker Monday during Marion’s annual Farm-City Appreciation Night.
