Former Marion County resident Keith Collett this week announced his candidacy for the county attorney’s office, with an endorsement from present County Attorney Ed Wheeler.
A portion of the relocated U.S. 56 highway may be opened for traffic Monday, if some unfinished guard rail installation is scheduled for completion in time to satisfy state requirement.
Sixty-five members of the Burkholder family gathered July 3 for a family reunion at the home of Earl and Frances Burkholder Hett. Four generations, numbering 112 descendants of Frank and Rebecca McHenry Burkholder’s 10 children were represented.
Natalie Thies recently celebrated her 12th birthday by inviting guests to a party at the home of her parents, Wayne and Carol Thies. Those present were Karen Klose, Kim Kreutziger, Angela Markley, KayLeah May, and Kay Summervill.
Phil Hanes, Chris Sprowls, and Ed Zeller are three of the 200 students selected to attend the National Leadership Training Center at Champ Cheley, Estes Park, Colo., in August.
Randy Crawford, brother of Mrs. Rob Craft of Marion, has completed basic training in the Marine Corps at San Diego and is visiting in Marion. After returning to California, he will be given specialized training in the Marine Security Forces for assignment to guard high-ranking officials.
