Floral shops, Flint Hills Clay Works, and retail stores were open Sunday afternoon for the annual holiday promotion which gets Christmas shopping off to a traditional start in Marion.
Chapter DB of PEO, of Marion, will host an autograph reception for the public to honor local artist Ruth Meyer Sunday afternoon. A series of limited edition prints, in full color, have been produced by the PEO chapter to commemorate the work of the Marion artist who will observe her 90th birthday in January.
Marion Warriors will take the court Thursday to defend last year’s tournament championship title. Team members are Chris Stinchcomb, William Teufel, Brett Sprowls, Shane Klein, Ed Zeller, John Wheeler, Lane Allison, Mike Meisinger, Matt Brenzikofer, Chris Sprowls, Mike Helmer, Justin Grimmett, Darrin Dvorak, Sheldon Bina, Jason Reiswig, Chris Smith, Shad Winter, Matt Hatfield, Eric Kannady, Kelly Linnens, Bill Davis, Andy Hett, Dirk Kannady, David Goering, Phil Humphries, and Neil Clay.
The annual Marion Chamber of Commerce farm-city steak feed was another outstanding success Nov. 21. Chairman Matthew Classen said 410 charcoal broiled steaks were served. The program that followed featured a banjo band from Wichita.
