Bernard and Jennie Broadstreet celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Sunday at the home of their daughter, Bernadeen Winter and family.

The first session of the 28th annual handicap tournament of the Marion City Women’s Bowling Association began this week at MarBowl Lanes. Leading team at the conclusion of the first session is Williams Service. First in the doubles section is the team of Pontious and Schinnerer with Kathleen Ludwig leading the singles bowlers.

Air Force Senior Airman Kim (Hett) Metcalf is now stationed at Travis AFB in California where she is an aircraft loadmaster. A 1980 graduate of Marion High School, she is the daughter of Jim and Carol Hett of Marion.

Kristy Herbel, a 5’9” junior with the Marion Lady Warriors basketball team, was named Saturday to Berean Academy’s 22nd annual all-tournament team. Herbel had 70 points in three games at the tournament, leading the Lady Warriors to a third-place finish.
