A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday to officially re-name Stadium Road as Eisenhower Drive. The ceremony is sponsored by the Eisenhower Committee.

Longtime owner of Weathers Café in Lincolnville, Louise “Granny” Weathers, is pictured as she goes to work on her tasty chicken fried steaks Friday before she retired Saturday.

Earline Magathan, Marion, retired Friday after 31 years with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service. A steady stream of farmers and ranchers filed through the office to say goodbye during a daylong retirement party for Magathan.

Jay and Cathy McClure of Hillsboro have purchased the former Wiebe’s Restaurant in Marion and have re-named it the Dari Palace.

Marion Kiwanis Club members viewed a 30-minute videotape of the March 13 tornado that cut through Hesston and Marion County. The scenes were shot by Denice Bina, Pilsen, Dean Alison, Hesston, and Mike Klose, Hillsboro.

Marion Elementary School children performed “The Mickey Mouse March” Friday evening during the annual spring music program. The “Disney Spectacular” featured all the songs from Disney movies and programs, ranging from The Ballad of Davey Crockett to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
