Jost Construction Co. started the long-awaited city remodeling project Monday. City offices will move to the old fire station section, commissioners will move their office to a section of the former city offices, and the library will expand past the former commission room.

Jeanne Keazer, a native of Marion, has been selected as School Social Worker of the Year for 1990-91 in Kansas. She is the daughter of Harold and Janet Keazer of Marion.

While Vernon and Madelyn Vogel were on a European tour in August, they met with Vernon’s cousins, J.C. and Florence Ehrlich of Marion, John and Nettie Daily of Wichita, and Harold and Fern Ehrlich of Washington, who were visiting Janet Ehrlich in Germany.

Marion’s boys’ cross country team finished first Thursday at the CVL meet. Team members are Nic Voelker, Bobby Taylor, Shane Turk, Justin Grimmett, Matt Hatfield, Mike Bruner and Theron Nienstedt.

Stone City Café’s assistant cook, Lou Jean Nesser of Lincolnville, has been selected as a finalist in a three-state Pillsbury bake-off competition held in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kansas Parole Board chairman Carla Stovall, Topeka, daughter of Carl and Juanita Stovall of Marion, was one of five persons chosen as Outstanding Young Alumni by Pittsburg State University.
