Announcement was made this week that Farmers and Drovers National Bank has purchased First Federal branches at Marion and Hillsboro.
Brett Sprowls has been selected as Student of the Month for October by Marion High School faculty. A senior, he is the son of Bob and Kathy Sprowls of Marion.
Dennis Highsmith, a native of Marion, has purchased Residential Mortgage, Inc., formerly a subsidiary of First Federal Savings Association of Newton. Highsmith and his wife, Rita, live in Newton.
Rocky and Shirley Jo Hett are new owners of Country Flowers at the corner of Lincoln and Maple streets in Marion. They are pictured as Chamber of Commerce ambassadors Bud Hannaford and Gerry Harris present them with their first dollar of clear profit.
Officers of the Marion/Florence FFA Chapter captured first place overall at the South Central District FFA Leadership Conference Oct. 23. Team members are Eric Soyez, Jeff Soyez, Michel Soyez, Eileen Hett, and Jenny Herzet.
Max and Shelly Robertson are new owners of the automobile body repair and paint shop at 424 South Third in Marion. Chamber of Commerce ambassador Matt Classen presented the Robertsons and their son Joe with a first dollar of profit plaque.
