Downtown businesses in Marion will be open from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday for “Moonlight Madness.” There will be sidewalk sales, food booths, and a farmers’ market.
Barry Mueller, son of Norman and Vivian Mueller of rural Marion and a 1969 graduate of Marion High School, arrived in Macau May 15 where he is superintendent of the Macau Golf and Country Club off the south coast of China on the island of Coloane. Mueller works for the Club Corporation of Asiz that manages golf courses, health clubs, and private dinner clubs.
Samantha Hett, 5, and her sister Morgan, 11, are pictured showing the latest entries in the Marion County Record produce derby. The daughters of Glen and Pam Hett of rural Marion picked the 1¼-pound tomato and 10¼-pound zucchini Monday morning.
More than 200 Vinduska descendants met at the VFW hall in Marion Sunday for a reunion. On exhibition was a family tree which traced the growth of the Vinduska family from the arrival of the Jacob and Frances Vinduska family in 1874 to the present time.
Members of the board of education, administration officials, and several faculty members of Marion Unified School District participated in a retreat Tuesday and Wednesday at The Barn, a bed and breakfast resort near Valley Falls.
