People living on the north hill in Marion, between Cedar and Elm, will soon have the street number painted on the curb in front of their homes. Vocational agriculture students from Marion High will do the job as a community service.

Atmos Energy Corporation of Dallas has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Greeley Gas Co., of Denver, Colorado, by means of a merger. Marion is among the towns in Kansas serviced by Greeley.

Florence Middle School students receiving prizes in the annual Florence Women’s Christian Temperance Union’s essay contest are Gabrielle Longhofer, first; Mandy Hanson, second; and Kathy Vantuyl, third.

Glenn Litke of Marion, instructor of voice music at Bethany College, Lindsborg, will be a soloist at Friday’s performance of J.S. Bach’s oratorio, “The Passion of Our Lord According to St. Matthew,” in Presser Hall at Lindsborg.
