The city of Marion will offer a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction to those causing vandalism in Central Park. Anyone with information should call the police department.

Nick’s Building Center owners Marion “Nick” and Norma Nickelson were presented with a first dollar of profit plaque by Marion Chamber of Commerce ambassadors, Gerry Harris and Alex Case.

Paul S. Allen, managing partner of Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, certified public accountants, has announced the addition of Cynthia K. Henning to the firm’s audit staff. Henning is the daughter of Charles and Virginia Heerey of Marion.

Ben Meisner is pictured as he displays a “yard-long” cucumber picked from the family garden Aug. 18. The vegetable is almost 30 inches long and weighs almost seven pounds.

Graduation ceremonies were held Monday for following members of this year’s Leadership Marion County class: Doug Sharp, Mickey Lundy Tena Reid, Sherri Sells, Patty Carroll, Mary Schneiders, and Margo Yates, Marion; Pam Riesen and Daniel Crouse, Hillsboro; LaDonna Langley, Durham; and Gary Duerksen and Irene Lehrman, Newton.
