A few dollars per week has paid off for Dan and Pat Kinning of Marion, who won $170, 862 Saturday playing Kansas Cash Lotto. “The first person we told about the win was our tax preparer,” Kinning said. The rest will go to house, car, and other payments, plus an account for son Jeremy’s college education.

Emmanuel Baptist Church will dedicate its newly remodeled auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The public is invited to attend.

Reporter/photographer Amy Smith’s “They made a difference” column this week features Chris Wilson, wife of the Rev. Eugene Wilson, pastor of Burns and Cassoday United Methodist churches. Chris is active in the communities, helping make them a better place to call home.

Juanita J. Bittle, P.A., has joined St. Luke Medical Clinic in practice with Dr. Don Hodson.

Pictured are Marion High School students Pam Kruse, Elly Barta-Moran, and LeAnn Hiebert, who received I ratings at regional piano competition Saturday. The students will compete in state piano competition Feb. 19 at Wichita State University.

Greg Carlson was welcomed Monday as a new member of the Marion Kiwanis Club. Co-owner of Carlsons’ IGA, he is a life-long Marion resident.
