Construction on the Main/Cedar intersection improvement project on K-256 is nearing completion. The project has caused consternation among area drivers forced to detour through residential neighborhoods since it began in May.

Rex Clothier is Amy Pagenkopf’s subject for this week’s person “who has made a difference.” Clothier has traveled across the state as a trooper in the Kansas Highway Patrol, been a rural mail carrier, and now is a bus driver for Marion Unified School District.

Andrea Wegerer, daughter of Lou and Judy Wegerer of Marion, has completed Future Astronaut Training at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson.

Marion Chamber of Commerce ambassadors Roger Hannaford III and Casey Case are pictured as they present Stan and Denise Hett with their first dollar of profit.

The Hetts own Hett Photography and Hett Realty at 205 E. Main. Though newcomers to the Marion business community, they are well known locally, having returned to the community where they were raised.
