The board of County Commissioners instructed County Attorney Keith Collett to draw up an ordinance which would eliminate adult entertainment establishments in the county, including a tavern in Burns reportedly featuring topless dancers.

Dorothy Conyers retired Thursday after 24 years of dedicated service as a secretary in the Marion Social and Rehabilitation Services office.

The annual Christmas holiday community lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Central Park. The public is encouraged to attend and join in the traditional ceremony of Christmas cheer.
