Jack Regnier defeated Kenneth Monroe for Marion mayor Tuesday by a two to one margin. “I’m happy to have won,” Regnier said. “I’ll do the best job I know how to do. I’m just one of a team.”

Matt Dalke of Manhattan will be director of the Marion baseball program. The Tabor College graduate met Monday with Mayor Gerry Harris and other city officials to discuss the position.

“Beary Special Babies” born in February and March at St. Luke Hospital included Morgan Marie Makovec, born Feb. 21; Tamara Joy Hiebert, March 4; Rebecca Ann Williams, March 8; Dylan Matthew Jirak, March 9; Ashley Marie Bartel, March 11; and Timothy Clayton Stuchlik, March 15.

Jerel Pankratz of Hillsboro, a construction worker at the expansion project at Central National Bank in Marion, slipped and fell 18-20 feet from roof beams. He was transported to St. Luke Hospital for observation and later transferred to St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, for further treatment.

Glenn Litke of Marion, instructor in voice music at Bethany College, Lindsborg, will be a soloist Good Friday at the J.S. Bach oratorio, “The Passion of Our Lord According to St. Matthew.”
