A stone arch bridge southwest of Marion may have gotten a reprieve from destruction but the Marion County Commission is leaning toward its removal. Research indicates it was built by Fred Lewis, a skilled stone mason who constructed a number of historic structures in Marion County and the state.

Five bands will be featured at Luta Poluza ’95. Four from the area and a headline act, Bang Prophets from Kansas City, will perform Saturday on the Luta Creek Stage in Central Park, downtown Marion.

Certified massage therapist Carolan McFarland has opened an office at St. Luke Medical Clinic to complement other medical treatments offered at the facility.

Leadership Marion County members toured area industries May 2. They visited Hoppy Line, Marion Manufacturing, Trace of Copper, and Martin-Marietta Aggregates of Marion, Franklin Buggy Werkes of Florence, Ratzlaff Draperies of Goessel, Barkman Honey and Container Services of Hillsboro, Donahue Corporation of Durham, and Custom Trailer Design of Ramona.

Kathleen Ludwig, Twilah Williams, and Linda Eshelman are pictured displaying a sample afghan for sale by the Florence Chamber of Commerce that features images of historic Florence buildings.
