Marion Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual downtown Easter egg hunt April 21 from 10 a.m. to noon. The hunt is for children through second grade.

Harvey Sanders of Marion has announced his intention to file on the Republican ticket for the office of sheriff. He has had two years of experience as a deputy sheriff in Harvey County and 21 years as an active reserve officer on the Marion Police Department.

Tammy Krich, 17, of Marion, has been selected as a semifinalist in the Teen Magazine’s 1984 “Great Model Search” competition.

Births announced in this issue include: Jandee Lucille, daughter of Beverly Luna of Marion and Ernie Luna, born April 7; Kelly Christine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Robinson Jr., Florence, April 8; and Andrew Wesley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Matz, Lincolnville, April 9.

Marion High School’s four-man golf team took first place Thursday at the Hillsboro Invitational. Chris Webb shot the low score, 84. Kevin Burkholder shot 85; Lora Wolf, 89; and Matt Wineinger, 92.

Jandee Smith, bride-elect of Pat Moore, was honored with a bridal shower March 30. Hostesses were Cindy Hett and Tena Reid. The shower was held at the Reid home.
