Testimony will be presented at a public hearing Tuesday in Hillsboro concerning the proposed relocation of Ramona State Bank to Hillsboro. Three members of the Kansas Banking Board will preside at the hearing, which will be held at Hillsboro City Hall.
Staff Sgt. George A. Coe, a native of Marion has been named Co-Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Month for September at Fort Rucker, Ala. The son of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Coe of Marion, Coe is a squad leader in his company’s 1st Platoon.
Double ring marriage vows were exchanged Sept. 24 by Amy Vinduska and Timothy Vogel.
A series of cooking classes on the use of microwave ovens will be sponsored by Marion County Extension Service Nov. 2 at Lynn’s Farm Equipment agency in Marion. Judy Christensen will teach the classes.
Marion Warriors will crown their 1983 football homecoming queen Friday night. Lori Vantuyl, daughter of Larry and Mary Vantuyl of Florence is one of the candidates. The second candidate is Tracy Burkholder, daughter of Larry and Carol Burkholder of Marion. Lisa Hess, third queen candidate, is the daughter of Don and Karon Hess of Marion.
Mitch Merrill, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gail Merrill of Marion, has been named assistant golf coach at Wichita State University.
Patrons of the Marion school district are exploring the possibility of forming a Parent-Teachers Association to consult with teachers and school administrators on educational issues in the district.
