Theme for this year’s Old Settlers’ Day Parade will center on this spring’s 100th graduating class from Marion High School.
Jack Regnier will rejoin the Marion City Commission Monday. The former mayor was elected this week to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Lester Henderson. Regnier will serve as street and utilities commissioner until the spring election in April.
Art in the Park, sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, Marion Community Arts Council, and Marion PRIDE committee, will be held Aug. 20 in Central Park. A variety of handcrafted items will be on sale.
Members of Marion High School’s flag team, Marnie Bina, Diane Bernhardt, and Sherri Winkler, are pictured as they practice a routine in the school parking lot. The team will accompany the marching band when it performs Monday afternoon at the Marion County Fair in Hillsboro.
Roger Hiebert has joined Seibel Real Estate and Auction Service of Hillsboro as a real estate salesman and auctioneer. He has 15 years experience in the general auction business, much of it spent at El Dorado Livestock Auction.
