A New York production company is seeking information on Charles Faust, a Marion man who spent a year with the New York Giants baseball team. Faust was with the Giants in 1910-’11. Legend has it he was kept on the team because the Giants won with him in the dugout. Whenever Faust was not present, the Giants lost.

Grandmother Jerry Heath is justifiably proud of her globetrotting granddaughter, Kim Heath. Kim has been selected as one of 17 students who will work in Guatemala on a project that will be part of her MBA degree from California Polytechnic University.

Members of the Marion High School Class of 1942 will observe their golden anniversary reunion when they gather on Old Settlers Day. There were 37 in the class, and 22 of the 27 living members plan to attend.

Four Marion High School students will be honored Sept. 16 by the University of Kansas at a dinner at Holiday Manor Convention Center, McPherson. The group includes Traci K. Darrow, Micah K. Hanson, Sherry Lange, and Ashley R. Loomis.

Melanie Druse of Marion recently graduated from Xenon International School of Hair Design at Wichita. She was honored as valedictorian of her class at ceremonies Sept. 1.
