The “Last Man Club” of Marion High School Class of 1927 met Sept. 12 at Stone City Café for a reunion luncheon. Ten surviving members of the class, including Margaret Richardson Wolf, Winifred Nelson Conyers, and Katherine Mohn Vogel of Marion, were present.
Lance Giesbrecht, son of Jim and Becky Giesbrecht of Marion, won a bicycle for his efforts with the American Heart Association’s annual Swim for Heart program. Marci Cain, Marion pool manager, said Lance raised $415 by swimming 73 laps in an hour. Local swimmers raised a total of $700 for the association.
The annual Marion Country Club championship was Saturday and Sunday. Aaron Hett defeated Bryan Hess in a one-hole playoff to win.
Senior Lesley Sieger has been voted student of the month for September by the Marion High School faculty. Her parents are Skip and Eileen Sieger of Marion.
The Bob and JoAnn Good family of Marion are headed for Hollywood and an appearance on the television program “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Good submitted a videotape showing Pat Cupp and Tom Thomas of Triple H Construction, Marion, during construction of the Marion Elementary School addition this past spring.
