The municipalities of Marion and Hillsboro entered into a joint agreement Monday to cooperate on relocation of a water inlet pipe at Marion Reservoir. The inlet provides the water supply for both communities.
The Marion school board voted 5-2 Monday night to award a contract to Jost Construction Co. of Marion to build a physical education building adjacent to Marion Elementary School. Jost’s base bid was $16,024 lower than a bid from Cheney Construction Co., Manhattan.
At the Nov. 2 meeting of 20th Century Club, Lorraine Hadsell presented a slide tour of her trip to several European countries.
The Smoky Valley Long Rifle and Pistol Club spent the past weekend at a muzzleloaders camp at Cottonwood Crossing on Dennis Youk’s land west of Durham. This is about the 20th year for gatherings in which the group re-enacts the period from 1750 to 1840.
Students at Kansas State University initiated into Kappa Delta Pi academic honor society Oct. 18 included Julie Sellers of Florence and Gary Stuchlik of Lost Springs.
