The world watched on television Wednesday as President Richard M. Nixon was laid to rest in California. Marion people watched with extra-special interest because Marion High School graduate Steve Seiler, son of Joyce Wood and stepson of Stan Wood, was the senior enlisted man in charge of the casket bearers on the honor guard.
The Harry and Theodora Koslowsky family planted a large Bradford pear tree on the southwest lawn of Bown-Corby School this week as a tribute and memorial to Maude Thompson, longtime teacher and administrator in the Marion school system.
Beary Special Babies born in March and April at St. Luke Hospital are Andrew Michael Schaefer, born March 17; Samantha Nichole Eickleberry, April 5; Trevor Dean Hageberg, April 28; and Alicen Anne Whitaker, April 30.
