Kaylee Raine Miles, daughter of Sheldon and Karen Miles of rural Hillsboro, is winner of the annual first baby contest sponsored by Marion County Record advertisers. Kaylee weighed 9 pounds and was 20½ inches long when she was born at 1:10 a.m. Jan. 14 at St. Luke Hospital.

A 1,600-square-foot expansion to St. Luke Medical Clinic appears feasible and affordable, hospital district directors said at their regular monthly meeting Thursday. Construction of the proposed addition is estimated to cost $132,000 with an additional $5,000 to $10,000 in architectural fees.

A 63-61 victory Jan. 10 over Remington was sparked by a 27-point effort from Brad Druse. Strong bench play from Jason Wheeler, Dax Kannady, and Bill Griffith also was credited.
