Milo harvest is underway with thousands of bushels flowing into area grain elevators, where test weights are between 50 and 60 pounds per bushel with similar weights for soybeans. Yields generally start around 70 bushels per acre for milo and 30 to 35 bushels for soybeans.

Fall championship motocross races will be Oct. 29 at Green Acres MX Park in Marion.

Senior Travis Ratzlaff, son of Curtis Ratzlaff of Marion and Connie Ratzlaff of Enid, Oklahoma, was voted student of the month by Marion High School faculty. Travis completed basic training with the Army National Guard during the summer. His plans include continuing with the military and possibly attending college.

A car caravan of the Santa Fe Trail in Marion County is planned for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The tour is being sponsored by the Cottonwood Crossing Chapter of the Santa Fe Trail Association.

Centre High School wrapped up a district championship Friday with a 50-24 victory over Solomon. The Cougars will advance to bi-district play Oct. 31.
