A special meeting of stockholders of the Marion Country Club will be held Thursday. Purpose of the meeting will be to discuss whether the club owners want to plan for installing grass greens on the golf course. At the present time, the greens at Marion Country Club are composed of sand.
Ed Gilham this week started work on an addition to his greenhouse at Gilham’s Gardens on East Main in Marion. The new addition will be of modern dome-roof construction with full automatic climate control, wide aisles and a level floor. The automatic controls will govern heating, cooling, fans and humidity.
The 11th annual Marion Motor Center “punt, pass and kick” contest will be held Oct. 4 at Marion Stadium.
Rochelle Mueller celebrated her 10th birthday Sept. 6 with a pizza supper for the following guests: Tracey Burkholder, Melanie Conyers, Julie Grentz, Tammy Harris, Lisa Hess, Janet Hett, Brenda Hiebert, Jessie Jost, Nancy Kline, Sheila Meisinger, Valerie Smith, Franci Smithhart, and Cindy Woerz.
Differing views on the proposed Tallgrass Prairie National Park will be presented Sept 12, 13, and 14 at Camp Wood, near Elmdale. Everyone will have his turn to speak at the weekend conference.
