Ezra Bernhardt retired from the Marion City Police force June 1, after over 20 years of service as a law enforcement officer. Bernhardt became a member of the Marion County Sheriff’s department in 1954, and was elected sheriff in 1956. In 1969, after 15 years service to the county, he joined the Marion City police, were he has worked ever since.
