This week’s personality profile features Elizabeth “Betty” Richardson, whose family, the M.S. Bryans, came to Marion from Liberty Prairie, Ill., in 1884.

Lynn and Jim Christensen, representing Lynn’s Truck and Tractor, attended an International Harvester regional meeting in Chicago last week.

This week’s winning entry in the “Produce Derby” is a 17½-pound cantaloupe raised by Mrs. Ernest Bezdek of Lincolnville.

Four college students who have been working at the Marion County Record this summer have returned to classes. They are Jim Hoch, a freshman in engineering at the University of Kansas; Dave Colburn, a freshman in journalism at KU; Pam Vinduska, KU journalism senior who will remain on the Record staff for the first semester; and Barbara Boyle, a junior at Lubbock (Texas) Christian College.

Bob and JoAnn Good returned to the states Aug. 18 after spending the summer traveling in Europe.

Marion County Bar Association members presented Judge William Clement with his official robes in a ceremony Monday morning in the district courtroom. Ed Costello, president of the local bar, made the presentation. David Wheeler, who said the robe brings dignity and respect to the court, made appropriate remarks.
