Hundreds of families will camp together at Marion Stadium beginning this Friday and remaining until Sunday afternoon. There are 294 units of the National Campers and Hikers Association pre-registered for the Area 4 spring campout.
Marilee McGinness, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed McGinness of Marion, is listed on the dean’s honor roll for the fall semester at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Okla.
Announcement was made this week that Mr. and Mrs. Jim Fruechting of the Aulne community have purchased the Marion Hardware and Gift Shop from Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt
Marion High School students dressed in the fashions of the ’50s Friday. Pictured on the front page, wearing bobby sox, saddle oxfords, sweaters, and other appropriate clothes, are Brook Beaston, Betty Jo Garrard, Gerald Shaft, Rick Just, Joni Wiens, Nancy Wood, Eldon Hett, and Jeannie Koslowsky.
Hett’s Implement Co. moved into spacious new quarters on North Cedar Street last week. The all-new building, of steel construction, is both attractive and functional. A grand opening will be announced later.
