Marion Kiwanis Club will honor the Eugene Enos family at a picnic Monday evening in Central Park. The local civic club has selected the Enos family as its winner of “The Family of Builders” award for Marion.

Gary Melcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Melcher of Marion, has accepted a position with El Dorado schools as a driver education teacher and physical education instructor. He also will be on the football coaching staff.

The Marion horseshoe team took third place in the Mid-Kansas Horseshoe League, which completed the 1974 season Friday evening. Players on the team include Tip McFadden, Henry Klein, Rex Seibel, Ralph Daggatt, Ernest Meierhoff, Reinhart Steinle and Francis May.

Mary Robertson, daughter of Mrs. Max Robertson of Marion, has compiled an outstanding academic record at Kansas State University. She has won renewal of a $200 Ellen and Selma Nelson scholarship. A 1971 graduate of Marion High School, Mary will be a senior in medical technology at K-State this fall.
