Greg Gamer, anchorman and executive news director of the Kansas State Network (KSN) will speak Sept. 24 at the annual meeting of St. Luke Hospital Auxiliary.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Richmond and their daughter Rhonda have purchased Conyers Flowers. They will be having a grand opening and open house soon.
Although it was a struggle, 8-year-old Denise Seller and her 5-year-old sister Julie still managed grins as they grasped a 15¼-pound cantaloupe Saturday morning. The enormous melon was grown in the Robert Sellers family garden at the Sellers home southwest of Florence.
Richard Johnson of Marion has been appointed Supervisor of the Region V Driver’s License Division at Wichita. Johnson has been an examiner for the Driver’s License Division for the past 15 years. The family will continue to reside in Marion.

Fourteen seniors will lead the Marion Warriors into battle against Moundridge Friday night when they try to avenge a 14-10 loss inflicted on Marion by the Wildcats last season. Senior Warriors are Ron Hardey, Darrell Waner, Jeff Richmond, Casey Case, Bill Edmunds, Jay Smith, Danny Snelling, Chuck Gough, Ed Robinson, Jerry Hett, Rick Richmond, Doug Heerey, Darin Helmer, and Tony Turk.
