Marion Chamber of Commerce is selling merry-looking buttons for the holiday season. Bearing the slogan “Merry Christmas — and happy shopping in Marion,” the two-inch pins feature a red and green holiday wreath on a white background, with lettering in the center.
Home Box Office will be free to Marion cable television subscribers tomorrow, Thanksgiving.
Marion High School Warrior basketball team has six lettermen returning to lead the squad, which has been picked to win the CVL title. The six lettermen are Greg Boyle, Jay Smith, Jeff Richmond, Doug Heerey, Jerry Hett, and Darin Helmer.
Trent Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delton Richmond, was 11 years old Nov. 20. Kevin Burkholder accompanied Trent home from school on Friday. On Saturday, a party was held with Jay Sandwell, Jeff Keller, Mike Loomis and Brian Dannenfelser as additional guests.
After nearly 40 years as a department store catering to both sexes, Jackson’s of Marion is once again a men’s store. Efficiency is assured by the experienced clerical staff. Velma Mathews, Ann Boese and L. Dena Goertz share 50 years serving Jackson’s customers.
