The city commission voted Monday afternoon that installation charges for those not already subscribers to the cable television service, the service will be free during December as a “Christmas special to the community.”
This week’s Personality Profile recognizes Charles Heerey, a resident of Marion, who now is superintendent of window services at Wichita’s general mail facility. Heerey had been a window and distribution clerk at the Marion post office for several years. He transferred to the downtown post office in Wichita and has now moved to the facility in the airport area in west Wichita.
Marion Warrior halfback Casey Case has been named to the Wichita Eagle Class 3A All-State first-string offensive football team. Jeff Richmond was selected for honorable mention at fullback for the offensive unit.
Nancy Bennett, bride-to-be of Dr. Michael Good, was complimented with a come and go miscellaneous shower Nov. 10 at the home of Mrs. Homer Stiller. Assisting hostesses were Mrs. Harold Keazer, Mrs. Dean C. Batt, and Mrs. Rosse Case.
Coach Marion Ogden expects good things from the Marion Warrior freshman squad this season. Team members are Tom Schaffer, Brian Hess, Doug Regnier, Andy Edwardson, Stan Williams, Jeff Harris, and Jon Wiebe.
